Sift Privacy Policy

Overview

Sift is designed to keep your information with you. Sift does not store your personal task data on Sift-operated servers. Your data stays on your device, or within your Apple-managed storage such as iCloud, depending on how your device is configured.

Information the app may access

Sift may request access to the following, only when relevant to app features you use:

• Your task entries, deadlines, saved places, and app settings.
• Your location, if you enable location-based reminders.
• Notifications, if you allow reminder alerts.
• Your microphone and speech recognition permissions, if you use voice input.
• Purchase status information from Apple for in-app purchases.

How information is used

• Task entries, saved places, and settings are used to power the core task management experience.
• Location data is used to support optional geofenced reminders and directions-related flows.
• Notification permission is used to deliver due date and location reminders you choose to enable.
• Voice input is used to transcribe spoken text into task content.
• Purchase data is used to determine access to paid features.

Data storage

Sift does not maintain its own user data storage service for your tasks, saved places, or preferences. That information is stored on your device, or within Apple-managed storage associated with your device and account, rather than on Sift-operated servers.

Speech recognition

Sift uses Apple speech recognition frameworks for voice input. When on-device recognition is available, the app requests it. Depending on device capabilities and Apple platform behavior, speech processing may still involve Apple services. Please review Apple’s privacy materials for additional details about how Apple handles speech and dictation features.

Location services

If you enable location features, Sift uses location information to refresh your current location, support location-linked tasks, and trigger geofence reminders. You can disable location access through your device settings at any time.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. Sift does not receive your full payment card details. Apple may share transaction or entitlement information needed to confirm your purchase status.

Sharing

We care about user privacy. Sift does not use this app experience to store your task data on Sift-operated servers, and we do not describe any Sift-operated advertising or data-broker sharing in this policy for the current app experience. If product behavior changes, this policy should be updated before those changes ship.

Your choices

• You can choose whether to grant location, microphone, speech recognition, and notification permissions.
• You can remove app data from your device by deleting tasks in the app or uninstalling the app, subject to how your device manages local storage and backups.

Children’s privacy

Sift is not intended to knowingly collect personal information from children through a Sift-operated online service in its current form.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
